Liora Alschuler is a developer of XML-based standards for the
exchange of electronic healthcare information and a consultant in their
application to providers and system vendors. In 1997 she led the project
that produced the design of the first XML-based exchange specification
for healthcare, called the HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA). She
is the principal at Alschuler Associates, LLC, currently designing and
implementing standards-based solutions for the nation's largest
providers and public health agencies. Liora helped launch The Health
Story Project (CDA for Common Document Types) which is developing
implementation guidance to support the integration of millions of
clinical documents into the electronic health record.
