Kate's work in publishing (1974 to 1991) evolved into a
specialization in using mark-up to facilitate publishing projects. With
experience in editorial, production, software development, and
management, she has focused in both consulting and staff roles on how
information gets securely from the person who has it to the person who
wants it, whether as a print or an online publication. Her experience
using technology in publishing led her to the history of science and
technology, which fuels her interest in developing implementation
strategies that are effective for the people who are doing the work.
